The steelier end of California chardonnay. Failla, an estate known for crystalline, elegant wines under the stewardship of Ehren Jordan, produce something more akin to a riper Chablis than richer examples elsewhere. 

From some of the Sonoma Coast's cooler sites, this is a prime example of that. Stunning maritime feel, saline is a word often thrown around but here it comes through the middle.
