This is a special wine in its own right but also to me. Years ago I visited Alberto near Sanlucar, where he showed us his wonderful Sherries as well as his incredible Tintilla based reds (And a bit of white too!). Planted into Albariza soil, Tintilla yields huge power and full body but with an amazing acidity, it's hard to benchmark it against much but for those who love the Rhone you'll be well into it. Big red fruits, full bodied, a delicious herbaceous lick and a feeling of that incredible Poniente wind that whips across the region.
